- to increase awareness of primates as an integral part of global biodiversity
- to advocate respect for primates as individuals
- to seek improved captive welfare, including advocacy for legislation reform banning exploitation of primates in the pet trade and as performers or photographic props
- to support research that seeks to improve captive husbandry and/or conservation
Education and community involvement are the keys to successful conservation. By fostering a human culture of empathy and respect for primates as our closest living relatives, we can hope to reverse some of the damage already done and preserve wild species and habitats for the future.
EPF offers outreach programs for public events, libraries, schools, science centers, scout and other groups. Outreach programs are currently available for Jacksonville and surrounding areas of north Florida. If you are interested in hosting an educational program presented by EPF or having us involved in your public event, please contact us at info@endangeredprimate.org.
